Whether you’re a music festival virgin or an experienced veteran, check out these do’s and don’ts so that you’re ready this festival season.

    Every year, the MTV Movie Awards are infamous for outrageous stunts, crude humor and awkward acceptance speeches. This year’s award show had plenty of OMG moments from Rebel Wilson’s fake double nip-slip to a teaser trailer for “Catching Fire” to Aubrey Plaza’s Kanye moment. The big winner of the night was Marvel’s “The Avengers,” which took home three awards, including the top prize: “Best Movie of the Year.”

    It’s finally back. Season three of “Game of Thrones” premiered Sunday, and the long awaited show did not disappoint. HBO’s smash hit went head-to-head with AMC’s zombie drama “The Walking Dead,” delivering a whopping 4.4 million viewers for its season premiere.

    “The Walking Dead” season three finale aired Sunday, and it was an interesting way to end, compared to the other two action-packed finales. I must admit that the dorkiest thing about me is that I read “The Walking Dead” comic books, so watching three seasons of this series on television has had some interesting twists, many of which I have enjoyed, but others not so much.

    There is a stereotype that school plays lack a lot of seriousness or an emotional punch, but this is not the case of “Eurydice,” which opens Wednesday in the Hartwig Theatre in the Theatre and Dance Building at the University of Southern Mississippi.

    On Tuesday night, I headed to the local movie theater to see the newest Disney movie, “Oz the Great and Powerful.” With an all-star cast featuring the talents of James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz, I was sure this movie would transport me from my theater seat into the magical and wonderful world of Oz. Unfortunately, this prequel to the classic film “The Wizard of Oz” left me standing somewhere under the rainbow.

    “Sweeney Todd” has an interesting history at the University of Southern Mississippi. After a long history of the play not being able to work out, Wednesday was the first time the performance and theatre departments were able to pull off the iconic play.

    The Theatre Department at the University of Southern Mississippi is scheduled to open their first play of the semester this weekend with the Irish drama “Dancing at Lughnasa” by Brian Friel.
