Boise State 28, Tulsa 21
Tulsa had No. 5 Boise State on the ropes Wednesday night, but Bronco quarterback Kellen Moore threw a pair of late touchdown passes to push his team past Tulsa 28-21.

Tulsa could be the best team in the Western Division, but must play UTEP in another Wednesday night ESPN game and SMU before getting a shot at No. 17 Houston.

East Carolina 49, Rice 13
The Rice Owls continued to assert themselves as the worst team in college football, and East Carolina improved its C-USA standing with a 49-13 romp.

The Pirates are alone atop the C-USA East standings, but Southern Miss and UAB are both in control of their own destiny.

West Virginia 24, Marshall 7
The West Virginia defense found a way to slow down the Darius Marshall express, and pulled out a 24-7 win at Morgantown, W.Va.

Marshall (the player) was held to 86 yards, 60 yards less than his season average. Marshall (the team) fell to 4-3, but returns to conference play this week when they host UAB.

Houston 44, Tulane 16
Case Keenum threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns as the No. 17 Houston Cougars rolled Tulane 44-16 for their first conference win.

The Cougars (5-1, 1-1) went into half up 9-6, but scored 35 second-half points.

Ole Miss 48, UAB 13
Ole Miss quarterback Jevan Snead threw for 240 yards and three touchdowns en route to a 48-13 whipping of UAB.

The Blazer's brutal road swing continues this week with a trip to West Virginia to take on Marshall, and heads to Texas next week for a tilt with UTEP.

Miami 27, Central Florida 7

Only 5,000 fans remained from the biggest crowd in Central Florida history by the time Miami put the finishing touches on a 27-7 win.

The No. 9 Hurricanes got 293 passing yards from Jacory Harris and jumped out a 17-0 lead early in the third quarter.

Navy 38, SMU 35

Navy gashed SMU for over 340 rushing yards, but it took overtime for the Midshipmen to dispatch the Ponies 38-35.

Navy scored 28 second-half points against SMU (3-3), who face the toughest stretch of the season with road trips to Houston and Tulsa up next.
