With the fall athletic season in full swing, volleyball, cross country and soccer all hit the road to continue their seasons this weekend.

Volleyball begins their third tournament of the season this weekend at the University of Texas at Arlington. The Lady Eagles will play Northwestern State at 4 p.m. on Friday, followed by games on Saturday against Marist at 11 a.m. and Texas-Arlington at 7 p.m.

The team looks to rebound off a three-match sweep in Lafeyette, La. last weekend. The team dropped matches against McNeese State, Louisiana Lafayette and Houston Baptist. They also had a 12-loss performance at their home tournament three weeks ago.

The Lady Eagle cross country team will head to the Auburn Invitational in Auburn, Ala. this weekend. The team looks to continue their impressive start from last weekend at the Crimson Tide Kick-Off in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Senior runner Stephanie Ledgerwood also looks to turn in another top 10 performance after finishing second overall at last weekend’s meet. Also looking to crack the top 10 are senior Krista Moylan, freshman Felice Johnson and freshman Rebecca Ulrich.

Finally, the Golden Eagle soccer team will travel for two games this weekend. On Friday night the team will take on the South Alabama Jaguars at 7 p.m. in Mobile. The team will conclude the weekend with a Sunday night game against Mississippi State at 7 p.m. in Starkville.

The soccer team is coming off of one of the most impressive victories of head coach Scott Ebke’s tenure on Monday with a 4-1 victory over Louisiana Monroe. The Eagles (2-1-1) could tie the win totals for the past two seasons, as they won just four games in the 2010 and 2011 campaigns.
