Yearbooks on sale now

The Southerner yearbook staff will be taking pre-orders in the Thad Cochran Center from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday through the beginning of November. Yearbooks are $15 when pre-ordered before November and will be $20 starting in November. Students who pre-order will receive a Southerner athletic watch. Organizations can sign up to be covered in the yearbook. Spots are limited.

 

Career Fair to be held on campus

Career Services will host the Fall 2012 Career Fair Wednesday from noon until 4 p.m. in the Thad Cochran Center. Professional dress is required for attendance to the event, which is open to all students, regardless of classification or major. According to the Career Services website, 88 employers are scheduled to attend the event. 

 

Actor-author to speak at forum

Film and television actor and author Rick Lenz will give a presentation as part of the Honors Forum series tonight at 6:30 p.m. The event, hosted by the College of Arts and Letters and the Honors College, will be held in room 103 of the Trent Lott Center. Lenz has starred in a variety of films and television shows and has worked with many Hollywood legends. His film credits include “Melvin and Howard,” Malice in Wonderland” and “The Shootist.”

He has also appeared on the television shows “Murder She Wrote,” “The Practice,” “Dynasty” and “Green Acres” and has won two Los Angeles Dramalogue Awards as a playwright. This lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Honors College at 601-266-4533.
