No one understands just what it is like being a emo kid in the South

(Here is where we emo kids take a break from living our lives and cry silently. Self-pity is very important, and without it, you are just a regular sad person. Without self-pity, you can not be emo.)
Generally, we emo kids travel in small packs - my partner in crime is Bernadette DeRussy. She never questioned my heterosexuality the way most people do. She understands emo kids are essentially sad metrosexuals. Her clothes never really match, and she does not wear makeup, but I like it that way. Plus, she wears interesting hats. You might know her as "the girl with the hats."
We emo kids come in all shapes and sizes. We may wear weird clothes and have weird hair, but we really are pretty cool people. If we seem to be a little too obsessed with MySpace self-portraits or the colors black and dark black, just know behind all of the mascara and tears, we are no different than you. Therefore, if you happen to see one of us walking around campus listening to sad music on an iPod or wearing oddly colored plaid clothes, do not be afraid of us. We are actually quite fun to be around, well, at least when we aren't crying.

If you claim to be an indie kid, maybe you should learn how to spell indie musicians' names.

Apparently I didn't get the memo about Elliott Smith being an "obscure" musician. I'm pretty sure too many people have listened to his music for him to be considered obscure. (Continued…)

Secondly, coming from a non-emo kid, I'd like to ask everyone above me (except John, as I'm not sure whether hes a naysayer or a yaysayer) to please remove whatever object you have lodged inside your rear. (Continued…)

Ok, well should I be seeing what's in store for me? I am an "emo" kid in the making, but I prefer "indie" Bad things have happened to me, and I listen to songs about death, and guns, and blood, and well. (Continued…)
