Head coach Larry Fedora announced Tuesday the indefinite suspension of freshmen Antwain Easterling, of Miami, Fla., and Ken Dailey, of Mobile, Ala., for violating team rules.

Fedora said he will not comment on the two suspensions.

Easterling played in two games during the 2007 season. He finished with 16 carries for 86 yards, with 15 of those carries leading to a team-high 85 yards in a 37-7 Southern Miss win at UAB. Dailey was not credited with a tackle this past season.

This is not the first time Easterling has been in trouble as a Golden Eagle. Easterling was placed on indefinite suspension after violating team rules after the Southern Miss 29-26 loss on Nov. 10.

Touted as one of the best running backs in the nation by most recruiting services, Easterling came into the Southern Miss program under a cloud of controversy after being involved in a sex scandal while at Miami-Northwestern High School.

Easterling was charged with second-degree lewd and lascivious battery on a minor after. He was 19 at the time of his arrest.

Charges were dismissed after Easterling completed a pretrial program.
