Tennis, golf on verge of C-USA championships

Four Southern Miss athletic teams will begin their conference championships in the next week.

The Southern Miss men’s and women’s golf teams will begin their tournaments on Sunday and Monday, respectively. Both tournaments are scheduled to last for three days.

The men’s team is coming off one of its best seasons in recent years, recording their first team win since 2005. The women’s golf team also looks to continue their strong season. They have posted six top ten finishes as a team this year.

The men’s tournament will be held at Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Tex.. The women’s tournament will be played at Peninsula Golf Course in Gulf Shores, Al.

Men’s tennis will begin their conference championships on April 20 in Orlando, Fla. The team, 9-14 on the season, will begin play as the number seven seed against Memphis. The tournament will be held at the University of Central Florida.

Women’s tennis will begin their tournament play on April 19 in Memphis, Tenn. when they take on Houston at 2 p.m.
