Student arrested for threatening social media post to Hattiesburg campus

Brandon Hardin, 20, a business major at The University of Southern Mississippi was arrested for posting an anonymous threat on social media application Yik Yak Monday morning.

Hardin is being charged with posting a computer threat to cause injury, which is a felony offense.

The University Police Department (UPD) is continuing the investigation and has no further information or evidence regarding the social media threat.
