UPD investigates second Yik Yak threat

-

University Police investigated another anonymous post on the social media application Yik Yak on Thursday, Sept 25. The post threatened members of the Southern Miss community on the Hattiesburg campus. The threat did not specify a location, but warned of action at 6:30 p.m

The post read, “water ballon fight at 630 may the purge be with you.”

UPD found no evidence to support an active threat to the Hattiesburg campus. UPD is working with Yik Yak to identify the person responsible for the post.

To report any suspicious activity, call UPD at 601-266-4986.
